Washington State Aviation Alliance share - A special license plate recognizing aviation could be a new option for Washington state vehicle owners if a proposal for the plate is approved by the state Legislature.

The goal of this specialty plate is to highlight the importance of the state’s aviation system, and to raise funds to support aviation and public-use airports in Washington State.

A minimum of 3,500 signatures are needed before the specialty license plate can be considered by state Legislature. The goal is to obtain these signatures by Jan. 1 in order for the plate to be considered during the 2017 legislative session.

Supporters of the Washington State Aviation License Plate are encouraged to sign this online petition. The petition allows people to submit a signature and indicate the number of plates they would likely purchase. While these signatures are intended to show anticipated purchases, submitting a signature is not an obligation to buy a plate. The website also includes an image of the proposed plate.

Over the last several months, your PNBAA Board of Directors has been working on a proposed merger of the North West Business Aviation regional groups.  It is with great pleasure we announce the merger of these regional groups is complete.

The Pacific Northwest Business Aviation Association (PNBAA) together with the Pacific Rim Schedulers and Dispatchers (PRSDA) and Pacific Northwest Corporate Flight Attendant Association (PNCFAA) have merged into PNBAA.

This will better serve our membership with a broader scope of representation for our region’s business aviation community.  We have created two additional board seats to accommodate the added representation.  PNBAA strives to advocate for our membership by tracking, communicating, and educating them on pertinent issues that affect business aviation.   We work to bring members together for enrichment and networking sessions relative to their area of interest within business aviation and with member and sponsor support, we are able to give back to the aviation community by way of scholarship awards from annual event proceeds.

By bringing the Scheduler & Dispatcher and Flight Attendant organizations into PNBAA, we will be able to increase representation and value for our members.   Dues will continue as published on the PNBAA.org website.  If members of the merging organizations are already PNBAA members there is no action required.  All members of PRSDA and NWCFAA will be encouraged to join PNBAA.

Joining the PNBAA Board of Directors from PRSDA is Ernesta Self.  Ernesta has served as President of PRSDA for the past three years.  She began her corporate aviation career as head of Customer Service for Clay Lacy Aviation in 2006.  After seven years in the customer service role with Clay Lacy, Ernesta moved to Boise, Idaho to become the Charter and Marketing Manager of Jackson Jet Center.  In 2015 she accepted her current position as Director of Charter Sales for Jetstream Aviation also based in Boise.

Joining the PNBAA Board of Directors from the PNCFAA is Sara Culver-Truby.  Sara has been the Chair of PNCFAA, which she helped found in 2012.  Prior to business aviation Sara worked as a commercial airline Flight Attendant with Northwest Airlines.  She has been in business aviation for the past 17 years, beginning at a small FBO in Santa Rosa, California as a scheduler and is currently a full time Flight Attendant for Y2K Aviation, LLC, based in Hillsboro, Oregon.  Her volunteer endeavors include; PNCFAA and NBAA Flight Attendants/Flight Technicians Committee.  The vision of these organizations and committees has been to mentor and promote the value of the additional crew member.

Please join us in welcoming these organizations and new board members into the PNBAA fold.
